Andalusians are one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world today. They are also known as PRE, or Pure Spanish Bred horses. Andalusians originated on the Iberian Peninsula, and have been in use since ancient times. Their prowess in battle won them the admiration of Greek and Roman generals. They are referred to in the Illiad by Homer. During medieval times, Andalusians were the choice of many nobles and kings. When the Normans conqured great Britain, they brought the breed with them.

Andalusians are compact horses, typically between 15 and 16 hands high. They have large eyes, a long shoulder and a flowing mane and tail. Andalusians are also intelligent horses, typically proud but cooperative. When treated respectfully, Andalusians can be trained quickly and easily. Combined with their graceful movement, this makes them well suited for dressage, show jumping and endurance. The breed comes in many colors, including grey, chestnut and bay, but we breed primarily pure black Andalusians.
